Education and Qualifications
To become an environmental engineer you need to have at least a four year bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or a related subject. Having a master's degree or a PhD would allow better job advancement and positions in the future or to start with. Many universities also offer co-op and specialized programs that focus on a certain sector of your interest, for example, waste management.
If you wish to offer your service to the public, it is required for you to get your P. Eng. (Professional Engineering) license. This license can be achieved through an exam after several years of work with at least a bachelor's degree and proof of being a graduate of an accredited engineering program.
